subject Assignment removed from Learning to Love You More
Hi Yuri,
My name is Patricia Rattray and I did Assignment 37 around Sept 4 or 5 of this year 2008. It looks like it has been completely removed from your website. Can you tell me why?
Not only was this an artistic assignment, but it also served to educate the public about the problem of chemical sensitivity. A serious issue with this illness is the fact that it is being ignored and covered up and families are encouraged to withhold appropriate treatment for this illness which leads to untold suffering. It is a huge problem and is completely ignored by mainstream media except when there is propaganda suggesting it is a psychological problem.
I have started to document the problem in my website www.the-open-boat.com. The argument I had was real and if you want more details about how I live there is a letter to Dianne Feinstein posted on my website:
http://www.the-open-boat.com/Letter_DF.htm
Other people are trying to document the problem also:
http://voices.idahostatesman.com/forums/your_health/2008/12/03/request_help_stop_human_extinction
Lourdes Sallvatore has many articles on American Chronicle about this issue also.
This is an illness that artists in particular need to be aware of because people who tend to be more empathetic and more creative are also the people who are more sensitive physically to toxic chemicals and therefore more prone to suffer from this.
I also have a website which focuses on the concepts of environmental medicine and applying them to everyday life www.ecoflourish.com. It is in progress also but of particular interest on this issue is http://www.ecoflourish.com/environmentmed.html
I would appreciate a response about why my assignment was removed. This is the last issue in the world that should be censored right now.
Sincerely,
Patricia

I'm sorry but we received an email from your ex husband and after discussing it we decided to take down your submission. If you have a problem with it you should discuss it with him. We want all of the participants of the site (however they are involved) to be okay with what is published.
This is what he wrote:
Dear Yuri:
This is to inform you that Assignment #37 by Patricia Rattray on your website
contains a transcript from a taped phone conversation in which I was a
participant. Patricia is my ex-wife, and though we have been divorced for almost
30 years, she continues to contact me from time to time and ask for money. The
call was placed from California and was taped without my consent. You probably
do not realize this, but under California law, it is illegal to tape a phone
conversation without the consent of all parties to the call. I understand that
the purpose of your website is artistic, however, I do not desire the illegally
obtained contents of my private life to be part of your work, I am writing this
email to ask you to please remove the transcript from your website. It seems
the decent thing to do under the circumstances, don't you agree?
Sincerely,
John Scott

Dear Yuri,
The phone conversation was not taped. It was from memory as I'm sure other people's are on Assignment 37.
Although we have been divorced for 26 years, he married my sister and as a physician has advised my family, particularly my father, that chemical sensitivity does not exist; therefore I get no assistance.
I was married to him when I became ill with this and I clearly said at the time that I was sick and needed help.
It states in the phone conversation why I contact him. That he has information about my medical history that no one else does.
I think it is important to highlight that physicians are willing to cause harm like this without doing research.
Since mainstream media is completely taken over by big business/pharmaceutical companies and the conventional medical community that they run; I think it is important for alternative outlets of information remain available to people like me.
Thank you for forwarding his letter to me; that makes it more clear; but please put my assignment back on. No conversation was taped. I didn't plan to submit it as an assignment at the time; I submitted it later when I thought you were still awarding grants. I go without food quite often. It will be a great injustice if I have to go without a voice also.
Sincerely,
Patricia
